Mark Lestina is the owner and founder of Wastemaster, Corp. a Chicago waste broker operating since 2013. Mark founded the company on the premise that small business owners and condominium associations are overpaying for waste and recycling removal service. His theory was proven correct many years ago when the City of Chicago completed a study on monthly scavenger rates and found that similar sized buildings with the exact same service requirements pay VERY different pricing. Mark created Wastemaster, a Chicago waste broker which brings transparency and cost savings to these owners and associations.
Earlier in his career, Mark served as President, Healthcare Division at Waste Link, Corp., a leader in the Environmental Consulting industry. While at Waste Link, Mark worked with healthcare clients interested in reducing trash costs, improving recycling and increasing operational efficiencies, while helping them become more environmentally friendly.
Mark previously worked at Stericycle, Inc. His position focused on medical waste minimization and regulatory compliance.
Prior to his work in the medical waste industry, Mark worked for Clean Harbors Environmental Services, a hazardous waste management company in a number of sales and marketing capacities.
Mark received a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Indiana University (1993) and a M.S. in Environmental Management from Illinois Institute of Technology (2000).
